Ours is a diverse little city that embodies acceptance of all, celebrates the arts, and loves to have fun.

Our ever revitalizing downtown is safe,clean and very pedestrian friendly. Galleries, outdoor cafés, boutiques, and great independent restaurants are everywhere with grand old Victorian mansions, Craftsman-style bungalows, and elegant Art-Deco office buildings sharing the landscape. Even the weather's great, with four beautiful seasons!

I'm a Carolina boy, reared here in Asheville. After earning my MBA and having a successful executive career, I took an early retirement to come home to the mountains with my partner Doug and our three dogs Gus, Jake, and Que.

We opened a restaurant in the heart of town, Anntony's Carribean Café and Coffee Bar, popular with visitors and a favorite of the locals. It became a social hub for many of our friends, in fact very much a center of our community and we miss it, but sold it to the new owners that run Carmel's. I'm on the boards of both the Bele Chere Festival and the Asheville Downtown Association. I also serve as the Event Coordinator for "Downtown After Five," "Jazz After Five" and the Asheville Holiday Parade. I'm active in the Asheville Chamber of Commerce and volunteer my skills with several charitable organizations, including the March of Dimes.
